Hand-weed until the vines cover the ground. Earth up on the 25th, 50th and 75th day. On the 50th and 75th day, lift and turn the vines before earthing up, so they do not root at the nodes and the main tubers grow bigger. The source also lists an Ethrel growth-regulator spray.
