Remove and destroy previous crop residues and wild Ipomoea plants. Use pest-free planting material and set pheromone traps from crop establishment. Rake up and earth up the soil at 50 days. Harvest as soon as the crop matures and destroy the residues. (A chemical drench for soft rot is also listed — ask your officer.)
