Keep the soil continuously moist. Plains: basal FYM 20 t/ha, N 50, P 125 and K 25 kg/ha with 2 kg Azospirillum; top-dress 50 kg N one month after planting and earth up. Hills: FYM 30 t/ha and NPK 90:90:90 kg/ha basal, then 45:45:45 kg/ha at 30–45 days. Fertigation for F1 hybrids: 200:125:150 kg NPK/ha, applied every three days.
