Bring the soil to a fine tilth. Plains: ridges and furrows 45 cm apart, plants at 45 x 30 cm. Hills: pits at 40 x 40 cm. For hybrids with drip, a paired-row system of 60 x 45 x 45 cm on raised beds is given. Avoid deep hoeing — cabbage roots feed near the surface.
