  Prepare the land to a fine tilth and form beds and channels. Where the soil surface forms a crust, apply lime at 2 t/ha with FYM or composted coir pith at 12.5 t/ha. Spacing: 30 x 10 cm for an irrigated crop and 25 x 10 cm for a rainfed crop.
