Once established it withstands months of dry weather, but keep the soil moist for the first 5–6 months; in summer, irrigate once in 6 weeks. First cut only after the trunk is at least 3 cm thick (or after one seed cycle) — as early as 6 months; then every 40–80 days, cutting at 90–100 cm. In drought-prone areas, let trees grow two years before cutting. The source notes that insecticides are not recommended for pests in fodder crops — no insecticide is registered for them.
