Propagated by green or brown budding. Plant in 1 m pits filled with topsoil and compost, with 12 kg compost or FYM and 120 g rock phosphate per pit. Spacing: budded plants 4.9 x 4.9 m in the plains (about 420/ha) or 6.7 x 3.4 m in hills (about 445/ha); seedlings 6.1 x 3.0 m in hills; in-situ sowing 4.6 x 4.6 m.
