Paddy — 2Seed selection & treatment
Wet seed treatment against blast Treat 1 kg of seed in a solution of carbendazim, pyroquilon or tricyclazole at 2 g per litre of water, soaking the seeds for 10 hours, then drain the excess water. This wet seed treatment protects seedlings from diseases such as blast for up to 40 days, and is better than dry seed treatment. To sprout the seed, keep the soaked seed in a gunny bag in the dark, covered with extra gunnies, for 24 hours. Follow the instructions on the product label. Consult your local Agriculture Officer before use. Pending expert review - Source

Biofertilizer seed soaking Mix five packets (1 kg/ha) each of Azospirillum and phosphobacteria, or five packets (1 kg/ha) of Azophos, with enough water and soak the seeds in it overnight before sowing in the nursery. The bacterial suspension left after draining can be poured over the nursery. Bio-control agents and biofertilizers can be mixed for seed soaking, but fungicides and bio-control agents are not compatible. Pending expert review - Source
