• Harvest and threshing

  At maturity the leaves and whole plant lose their colour and turn brown. Cut the plants at the bottom, keep them on the threshing floor and beat the heads with sticks until the mature seeds separate. Winnow, sun-dry, and store the seed in gunny bags.
