Jackfruit — 3Land preparation & sowing

  • Propagation and planting

Multiply by softwood or cleft grafting in July–August on 4-month-old seedling rootstocks. Dig 1 m pits, fill with topsoil mixed with 10 kg FYM and 1 kg neem cake, and plant grafts in June–December at 8 x 8 m. Irrigate weekly until established, then as needed. Manure in two splits (May–June and September–October); the yearly table in the source is not clearly printed, but FYM rises from 10 kg in year 1 to 50 kg per tree from year 6.
