Crossandra — 3Land preparation & sowing

  • Propagation and planting

Tetraploid types are raised from seed (5 kg/ha) and 60-day-old seedlings are transplanted. Delhi Crossandra is raised from terminal cuttings 10–15 cm long (about 41,700 cuttings/ha). Plough three times and mix in 25 t/ha FYM; form ridges 60 cm apart and plant on one side of the ridge 30 cm apart. The source also lists 60 x 40 cm, and 60 x 60 cm for seed production — confirm the spacing for your type locally.
