Seed rate: 4 kg/ha. Mix 1 part seed with 4 parts sand and sow in rows 25–30 cm apart. Plains: two ploughings and ridges and furrows 30 cm apart. Hills: raised beds 1 m wide. Thin plants to 5 cm apart in the plains (10 cm in the hills); thin and earth up on the 30th day.
