Varieties: FYM 25 t/ha and NPK 50:50:30 kg/ha basal; 50 kg N/ha on the 30th day or at earthing up. Hybrids: FYM 25 t/ha and NPK 100:150:100 kg/ha basal; 100 kg N/ha on the 30th day. Do hand weeding, top dressing and earthing up on the 30th day. After the seedlings establish, irrigate at weekly intervals. If zinc deficiency is seen, spray 0.5% zinc sulphate three times at 10-day intervals.

Pre-emergence herbicide
Apply pendimethalin 1.0 kg a.i./ha or fluchloralin 1.0 kg a.i./ha as pre-emergence, followed by one hand weeding at 30 days after planting.
