Seed rate: varieties 2 kg/ha, hybrid 1 kg/ha. Treat seed with Trichoderma viride 4 g/kg or Pseudomonas fluorescens 10 g/kg (a fungicide option is also listed). Dig 30 x 30 x 30 cm pits at 2.5 x 2 m; sow 3 seeds per pit and thin to 2 after 15 days. Irrigate before sowing, then weekly. With drip, 15-day-old seedlings from protrays or polybags are planted on 120 cm raised beds.
