3 నెలలు దాటిన తీగల నుండి 2–3 కణుపులు ఉన్న 10–15 సెం.మీ. చివరి ముక్కలు — హెక్టారుకు సుమారు 80,000 — 60 సెం.మీ. దూరం బోదెలపై (లేదా మడులపై) 20 సెం.మీ. దూరంలో నాటాలి. నాటే ముందు ముక్కలను 400 గ్రా. అజోస్పైరిల్లం కలిపిన నీటిలో ముంచాలి.
