నేలను మెత్తగా దున్ని మురుగు కాలువలు ఏర్పాటు చేయాలి. 45 సెం.మీ. దూరంలో బోదెలు, కాలువలు చేసి 20 సెం.మీ. దూరంలో దుంపలు నాటాలి. 60 x 30 x 20 సెం.మీ. జంట వరుసల పద్ధతి కూడా ఉంది. దుంప పురుగు గుడ్లు పెట్టకుండా దుంపలను సుమారు 15 సెం.మీ. లోతులో నాటాలి.
